Entrepreneurship Initiative in Georgetown MBA

I recently attended an career panel hosted by the Georgetown Entrepreneurship Initiative.
The director is Jeff Reid, he's also teaching courses in MBA program.
The initiative is presented in the format of incubator called "StartupHoyas" that promotes the events and entrepreneur community.

In the session, we also discussed some possible opportunities in the entrepreneurship/high-growth sector. There are several common grounds presented below that Jeff and other students who interned last year at start up companies both agree with.

1. Less structured program, with more flexibility on the internship schedule.
2. Less pay roll.
3. More responsibilities, more empowerment.
4. Mostly not promised to a full-time offer.
Note: These are all compared to traditional MBA recruitment programs.

Jeff also pointed out that MBAs worked in entrepreneurship environment may not always lead you to a higher salary after graduation, but the average earning 5 year after graduation in entrepreneurship is actually higher than established corporate. And the most important, they are much more HAPPY!
